certificate to an Associate Financial Planner.
Ten HSBC
Senior Personal Bankers, who have recently completed their Associate
Financial Planner Examinations, yesterday received Associate
Financial Planner Certificates in a presentation ceremony that took
place at the Laksamana College of Business in Jalan Tutong.
Also receiving certificates presented by the CEO of HSBC Brunei,
Mr Guy Priestly, were six existing Associate Financial Planners who
are already working towards their confirmation as Certified
Financial Planners.
The ceremony was carried out in the presence of
Abdul Razak
Holdings' Managing Director cum Laksamana College of Business's
Director, Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Hapidz Pehin Laksamana Hj Abd Razak,
as well as the Administration Manager of Laksamana College, Mr
Sivarajah, and several Senior Executives of HSBC.
In order to be certified as Certified Financial Planners, who
will be able to recommend appropriate planning products and discuss
general financial strategies with customers, they have to meet
requirements in education, examinations, experiences and ethics.
Upon meeting all requirements, the Certified Financial Planner is
qualified to write a comprehensive financial plan for customers and
the certification is a mark of quality, trust-worthiness and
professionalism that they can rely on.
With these qualifications, HSBC's consistent professional
information and guidance are ensured on all areas of financial
planning, such as retirement planning, investment planning and risk
management to assist their customers in planning for the future.
Mr Priestly, after congratulating the recipients on their
success, thanked them for their hard work and dedication in pursuing
their studies, which show that they have improved their own skills
as well as abilities to better meet the needs of HSBC's customers.
He noted that HSBC is very committed to its investment in
training, as they need to have qualified, knowledgeable and
insightful team members. By continuously doing this, it is hoped
that HSBC's professional standards and service quality will be used
as industry benchmarks.
"We hope our investment in training will develop our staff and
attract others to work for HSBC and experience the rewards of
working as part of a professional team with resulting career
advancement opportunities."
"Today's certification is an acknowledgement as well as an
achievement towards improving my personal skills to meet customers'
needs," said Ms Ida Nazrena, one of the recipients, adding that HSBC
not only provides banking facilities and products but also financial
planning to meet customer's objectives.
The financial planning course was organised by HSBC with full
support by Laksmana College of Business that has been supportive in
providing such programmes to personal bankers.
