Laksamana College of Business students with
the guest of honour
A prize presentation ceremony for the second Mathematics week of
the 4th Inter Vocational and Technical Institution Mathematics Quiz
Competition Final was yesterday witnessed at the Sultan Saiful Rijal
Technical College (MTSSR).
Present as guest of honour was Nooraizamdin bin Haji Mosbi, the
Acting Director of Department of Technical Education, Ministry of
Education.
The day opened with a Surah al-Fatihah recital, which was then
followed by a welcoming address by Chairman of the organising
committee Silva Das Rajagopal, who is also the Head of the
Mathematics Department.
In his speech, the guest of honour said, "Judging from the many
interesting activities that have been carried out, I believe that
the staff of the Mathematics Department and the college in general
have invested much thought and effort into realising this
Mathematics Week.
"I gather that throughout the week, the activities that have been
carried out included some that were interactive and hands-on, while
others required creative and critical thinking."
"Students at any level or age need the occasional motivation and
stimulation to learn and to enjoy their learning. Organising an
event like this is certainly an excellent way to put across the
message that Mathematics can not only be interesting but rewarding,
judging from the many prizes that are to be presented later," he
added.
The 4th Inter Vocational and Technical Institution Mathematics
Quiz Competition Final was held between Sultan Saiful Rijal
Technical College, Laksamana College of Business (LCB) and Jefri
