BA Common Year 1

BA Common Year 1 degree course has been accredited by Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council. The Academic Pathway is to proceed to Year 2 to any universities accredited by Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council.

Open Choice

The Year 1 programme at LCB has been designed to give entry into Year 2 of degrees in Business Information Management, Business Studies or Marketing. This gives students a further study these subjects before making an informed and final choice of degree course.

Consortium of Universities

The Year 1 programme and study materials have been approved by a Consortium of Universities, which are willing to accept successful students into Year 2 of their degrees. Again students will have a further year to make an informed and final choice of University.

Excellent Study Materials

The Foundation established to develop degree course materials includes to date 38 different universities/colleges as members. This Foundation has chosen in their opinion the best authors from these Universities to write the study texts which cover the entire syllabus for each subject and are included by LCB as part of the course fees.

Bridging

Many students feel lost in their 1st year at University with thousands of new faces and where they are expected to be far more self reliant than at their much smaller schools. LCB as a smaller specialist institution helps students adapt more easily to be more independent methods of study required at University and helps them achieve the best possible results.

The duration of the BA Common Year 1 is 1 academic year divided into 2 semesters with 5 modules studied in each semester; students can start either in:

  • October and finish in June, or
  • February and finish in September.

The modules are assessed by means of both coursework and examinations with a pass mark of 40% for each module.

Entry Requirements

2 GCE A' Level in English medium subjects or KCB's University Foundation Course.
