Kensington College of Business, London (KCB) is one of the longest established independent higher education (HE) colleges in the UK and celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 2007. It is unique in the independent college sector in being involved in three interrelated areas of work:
- delivery of pre-bachelors, bachelors and masters programmes;
- providing specialist training to major corporate clients (including Lloyds TSB and Capita Registrars);
- preparing students for the qualifications of leading Chartered Professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (the ICSA) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (the CIM). Some of the partnership initiatives with Chartered bodies have been exclusive to KCB — the only Independent College to offer Certificate in Company Secretarial Practice and Share Registration Practice.
KCB has delivered University Degree Courses at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels for over 15 years in collaboration with a number of British Universities including Wales, Glamorgan, Hertfordshire, Portsmouth, Thames Valley and others. The University of Wales validated Bachelors Degree Courses in "Business Studies", "Marketing", "Information Technology Management" and "Business Accounting and Finance". The University Foundation Course (UFC) at KCB provides the opportunity for students with GCSE qualifications or equivalent to progress on to Degree Courses at 19 Universities across the UK.
It is this scope of activity, combined with personal attention, which creates the special character of the College. Students benefit from a vocationally focused and stimulating environment, enjoying the advantage of daily contact with the corporate and professional world. Many of our lecturers on our programmes both in the UK and abroad are respected professional practitioners in their own right. The UK Campus of KCB is appropriately located in the heart of the professional and business quarter of London, just two minutes from Holborn Underground station in a seven storied building of architectural merit.
Our courses and/or facilities have been inspected and/or approved by professional associations, universities, employers and students worldwide. Professional associations include: ICSA, CIM, ABE, IBA, AIA, the Law Society and the Council of Legal Education (Barristers). Universities includes: Wales, Glamorgan, Thames Valley, Hertfordshire, Northumbria, Leeds Metropolitan, etc. Employers include: Bank of England, Ernst & Young, Lloyds Bank Registrars, Texaco Ltd, Citibank, The Home Office, etc.
