Why did you choose Laksamana College of Business?
I chose Laksamana College of Business because of the courses offered as it provided the pathway I was looking for. When I visited LCB, my parents and I were drawn by its vibrant atmosphere which influenced the decision to be a part of LCB. Some of my relatives were students from the college, therefore they too recommended via word or mouth.
What's the best thing about being a student at Laksamana College of Business?
The best thing would definitely be the well-maintained study area, library and the innovative classes where lecturers are very approachable when students are in need of help.
What's the social life like in Laksamana College of Business?
Everyone is friendly to everyone and you can't help feel like a small community after a week or two. The social life is well balanced; there is a rooftop where people just interact with one another. Other than that, it's a 'work hard, play hard' basis.
What do you do when you're not studying?
When I'm not studying and I happen to be in college, it's either visiting the World Wide Web with LCB's adept computers or lounging by the sitting area, catching up with friends or simply doing some reading/research in the library.
Do you have any advice for anyone applying for Laksamana College of Business in the future?
Apart from knowing the different programmes offered in LCB and what opportunities they might gain from it, there isn't any vital advice. Once a student, just be sure to make the best out of the college. The lecturers are more than happy to help you when in need, resources are accessible. Everything is laid out for you; you just have to utilize them to the fullest. I believe there will be no regrets.
What's the support like from the lecturers?
The lecturers are very encouraging and always believe that the students are potential over-achievers provided we make an effort. They're concise when they teach and insure that we're well-prepared for the exams. That's what motivates me every time I'm facing an assignment or exam which takes place at the end of every semester.
What is your ultimate goal? Where would you like to work?
My ultimate goal for the time being would definitely be to achieve outstanding results for UFC and BA Common Year 1, in order to proceed to second and third year in the UK in a prestigious university. Due to LCB's combination of fields in the Business area such as Economics, Law, Marketing, Business, Quantitative Analysis etc, there are various courses to choose from. Business Law has always intrigued me; therefore I would like to pursue the course in the near future. As for career opportunity, I would like to hopefully work in a law firm, perhaps under a private or government sector dealing with commercial law.
What do you like most about your course?
I suppose it's how the course is generated. I'm currently a University Foundation Course student which is a degree pathway consisting of seven modules that completes the course as a whole. What I like about it is how well it's structured and divided. It may seem like an intensive course but with sufficient hard work and determination, alongside the help of the lecturers and resources the college offers, it's not impossible. You also get an outlook of the courses you're about to face for the first year (BA Common Year 1) where it would be more challenging , so UFC acts as a bridging course to BA.
