 The University Foundation Course has been accredited by Brunei National Accreditation Council. This means our UFC’s qualification will be recognized by Brunei government for students who wants to apply for the government scholarship.

Time Saving
Overseas High School Leaving Certificates are often not recognized by British Universities which insist UK G.C.E S Levels are passed with high grades which might take two years or more with retakes. The University Foundation course though takes only one academic year to complete and gives guaranteed entry to a UK University.

Choices of Universities
 Some Foundation courses give entry only to one university or degree course whilst others have no formal agreements with universities. The KCB Foundation course is unique in that it was designed by a group of Universities which guarantee successful LCB students entry to the Year 1 of degrees in: Business Studies, Marketing, Business Information Management.

Subject Familiarities
 Students taking A Levels in many cases choose their degree course without ever having studied the subject before which can lead to the choice of the wrong degree. On the University Foundation Course the degree subjects, for which the course qualifies students, are part of the course itself and so students can decide which subjects they prefer before not after joining University!

Continuous Assessment
 Research has shown that in many cases A Levels, with the traditional unseen end of year exams, rely too much on memory and factual recall, together with luck if what the students has revised appears in the exam! In the University Foundation Course, students are assessed throughout the year by a combination of coursework and examinations, which is the same as at University.

Multiple Dates of Enrolment
 Most A Level and Foundation courses start only in September but the KCB University Foundation course is divided into two parts (Semester A & B) which can be taken in either order. Students therefore starting in September finish the University Foundation course in June while those who start in January finish in September and so both groups begin their University course in October of the same year.
